Amman, Feb. 4 (Petra) -- As part of ongoing efforts to ease the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Al Monasara Islamic Zakat Committee, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), has implemented a series of humanitarian relief operations since the beginning of 2026, aimed at addressing the most urgent needs amid extremely difficult conditions.
According to a statement issued by JHCO on Wednesday, the initiatives focused primarily on food security, with 40,000 ready-to-eat meals distributed in several phases, in addition to 26,500 bread packages provided to support families’ daily nutritional requirements.
In response to the escalating water shortage in Gaza, relief teams supplied 1,500 cubic meters of safe drinking water to affected communities.
Shelter assistance also formed a key component of the response, as 4,500 tarpaulins were distributed to displaced families to offer basic protection from harsh weather conditions, particularly during periods of cold and rain.
These efforts reflect a coordinated humanitarian partnership grounded in rapid response, needs-based planning, and effective delivery, ensuring assistance reaches those most in need while helping strengthen the resilience of the people of Gaza.
